Fardowners
Named for the Irish immigrants who helped build the Blue Ridge Tunnel under engineer Claudius Crozet — history you can see out the window, where the old C&O depot still stands across The Square. Today it’s Crozet’s community pub: quality craft pub fare with local Virginia beers on tap, live music on weekends, and a Sunday brunch that draws a devoted crowd. The Loaded Bloody Mary alone is worth the trip. Chef Mark Cosgrove keeps the kitchen sourcing locally in season. Families welcome — the kids’ mac & cheese is apparently famous.

A true cornerstone of Crozet — this is where the whole town shows up. Great pizza, a good bar, big screen TVs, and an energy that makes it feel like the living room of the whole community. Perfect for a casual group dinner, game night, or whenever you just want to relax without fuss. Highly recommended by locals, consistently.

Technically a grocery — but included here because the sandwiches are some of the best you’ll have anywhere. Built on the foundation of a roadside fruit stand in 1999, Greenwood has grown into a full gourmet market with fresh bread from Albemarle Baking Company, local produce, and a remarkable selection of natural wine and craft beer. The weekend sandwich menu is legendary. Grab one and eat at a picnic table outside on a nice day. One of the rituals guests come back for every time.
