I’ve been going to Duner’s for years, and it remains one of the most reliably wonderful dinners in the entire region. Located in the tiny village of Ivy — right between the Farm and Charlottesville, right on RT 250— it’s a perfect stop on any evening out. The menu changes daily based on what’s fresh and seasonal, and under Relais & Châteaux chef Christian Kelly, the kitchen is at a real peak. The crab cakes are the best I’ve had anywhere. The homemade desserts by pastry chef Linda Steiner (my neighbor’s daughter) — who has been there since the 1990s — are not something to skip. The atmosphere is intimate and bustling with a beloved 10-seat bar under an iconic Polynesian mural.

⭐ Sarah’s Long-Time Favorite: This is where I take people when I really want to show them what this area can do. Reserve ahead, do not skip dessert, and try whatever fish dish is on that night. You will not be disappointed.
